When the Demons took over, humanity was all but destroyed, yet impossible things were accomplished by impossible people in this impossible world. A small raft slowly drifted out of the fog, On the raft was a long figure, a long rifle slung over his back and a curved sword at his left hip. He propelled the raft with a jurry-rigged engine and rudder. The raft hit a small outcropping of sand and pebbles.
"shhh-K! shhh-K! shhh-K"
The breather on his mask rattled and hissed as the Nomad breathed. He slowly walked from the raft and up the pebbled beach. The mansion remained there, unmoving and unchanged since the fall of the world. They called it Dante's tomb, like Dante was capable of changing what happened, like he was capable of defeating Mundus. "heroes..." Heroes meant nothing, the individual's power had failed, and with it the world had failed. All that was left was survival.
The Bedouin moved closer to the house, wanting to see if it was true, if there truly was a tomb to the one they called Dante. He apparantly was killed by a demoness named Amoura, and his death ushered in the rise of Mundus...
Abd-Al-Amin slipped through the door, there hadn't been life on this island for a while, or at least that's what the man who gave him directions to this island had said.

"Be careful where you walk. Wouldn't want to awaken his spirit now would we?" The voice echoed through the main hall of the castle as the entrance Abd-Al-Amin came through was suddenly blocked off by a wall. Maricul appeared on top of the main stairs case in the center of the room, behind her was an empty space where Mundus' statue used to be while he rested here prior to his final battle with Sparda's son. "Although I guess if he could move around without his body he would have by now. I'd say welcome but the only time humans are welcomed here is when they're enslaved by Mundus. One of his sons watches over this place you know. He took me on a little tour my first visit here. What brings you here, stranger?"

Vexzel wondered if he'd count as 'life' on the island when he got there. He'd be arriving sometime after the Bedouin, as he lacked an engine. No, he was using a couple of dead demons like puppets to row his makeshift raft through the water. The half rotten things holding the oars looked like some kind of demonic monkeys..... and one had lost its head.
Vexzel just lay at the center of the raft, staring up at the bloody red sky that always seemed to make him a bit hungrier. He remembered the little street brawl with these demons at the harbor. Yes, there had been five then, he still couldn't quite get the foul taste of their blood out of his mouth. He'd also lost his cape during that little mistake of thinking he was human, not that he cared much. These two were the only ones without a missing or had broken arm so it was their corpses bringing his raft to shore.
He was somewhat surprised to find another raft there already, that could be interesting later. The vampire hopped to his feet. It was still day out, but he was able to cope with that minor inconvenience. Centuries of sunlight exposure in small doses had worked wonders.
The zombified demons walked ashore first, as Vexzel 'felt' into his own shadow wondering if there was a better place to keep his weapons. Two Devil Arms, a katana, two pistols and enough ammo to start a gang-war felt cluttered in that small inter-dimensional void. For now he just let the two demons rot into dust; and made his way to the mansion...... Shifting through the scents of the island as he walked.

"Shhh-K! Shhh-K! Shhh-K!" his breath rattled in the breather mask on his face. Bedouin didn't talk at first, merely staring at the woman, then slowly walking into the hall. He closed the door behind himself quietly and turned to face the seductress. "I was... pashing truuhh..." the mask muffled his speech, his goggles catching light through the few windows and shining as the reflected the sun. His robes slowly swayed in a draft.
Normally the Nomad didn't talk, though this was a rare exception. "on my way... elssswhere. This was just in my path..." Abd-Al-Amin slowly walked into the great hall, his cloak swaying, once it was a soft and pure white but time and harsh conditions had worn it to a course tan color, the edges of it were frayed, and small holes were starting to form. His robes were light as well, and in better condition, his Jezail rifle softly swung on his shoulder, and his Kilij sword rattled in it's scabbard.

The door on the second floor of the main entrance, near the right side of the room swung open and Zira came walking out.
The Princess sensed a couple of presences on the first floor so she decided to come down and check on them. One presence was a human and the other two matched each other; vampire. Zira leaned up against the railing on the second floor and looked down to see The Seductress talking to the mortal man. For now the other vampire appeared to be unseen. That was all right by her, just the sight of the vampiress alone made Zira’s blood boiled as she wanted nothing more than to aim Ebony at her head and take her life.
All things in time. Zira would settle with insulting her for now.
“I doubt the man came all this way to speak to a vampire who’s no better than the common succubi.”
In Zira's mind a succubus was the worst thing you could be. She jumped over the railing and down onto the ground. Zira walked over to the human and drew Ebony, building up a charge shot powerful enough to break through stone walls, and so she released it at the sealed off entrance unsealing it so the man could leave.
“I suggest turning around and departing quickly. This is nowhere for a mortal like yourself to be.”

"Quite the place to just be passing through, don't you think? It's not like this castle is just free for anybody to wander into." It was a base, a castle, a mansion and a tomb all built into one. The place where hope died and the beginning of a new era, the era of Mundus, truly began. This man acted like he didn't know but how could that be? Maybe he just didn't care? How very brave, and foolish. Before The Seductress could say anything else she was interrupted by a familiar voice. Looking to see General Firestone jumping down from the second floor railing. Maricul only smiled towards Zira, delighted to see the beloved General of Mundus' armies still in one piece. While it was clear that Amoura was the favorite of Mundus' children Zira was still up there on the list compared to the others.
The Son of Mundus who she knew so well through pleasure of the flesh had addressed several accounts of jealousy he had for both Amoura and Zira. The poor boy, just looking for a chance to prove himself. To prove that he could be more capable than his older sisters. But instead he fell into self pity and used her body as an outlet, and she wasn't about to protest against that. He could offer her riches by just staying there and at the same time she got to make love to a Prince. How many girls can say that at a time like this? Yeah, I didn't think it was that many. "Such harsh words, Princess. I've done nothing to earn your scorn."
Maricul spoke with a dash of innocence in her voice. As if she was just a humble innocent servant instead of a powerful and skilled vampire warrior. "Princess, forgive my intrusion, as it's never my intention to question you, but shouldn't we inform your brother, the caretaker of this island of this intruder? Or should I say intruders?" Maricul was sure to put empathize on the S as she too sensed the other intruder, even if he couldn't be seen by the naked eye yet.

Vexzel didn't care to be seen yet. He'd stopped halfway between the shore and mansion. The run-down shed he'd spotted seemed out of place here..... and an idea came to him. As he ripped the rusty pad-lock off the door his various weapons began to float up out of his shadow. Vexzel stashed the Shinigami and Zaha'Gral in the shed. He kept the Tachi seathed at the right side of his waist and left the pistols in his shadow rather than showing everything at once.
The floor of the shed was soon littered by his ammo supply. He then closed the door, cast a minor barrier over the decrepit wooden structure. Then his real idea started, as the shed seemed to sink into the ground, no into its own shadow. It vanished into an oblivion only Vexzel himself could access. Content with the fact that his Devil Arms would never be out of reach, there were always shadows, he started back to the mansion.
His inhuman hearing focus on snippets of conversation. I was.... pashing truhh Now that one sounded odd. He caught bits and pieces of the other voices over the sound of his footsteps. He couldn't care less about Mundus' children, that just meant a bit of violent entertainment. It was the scent of another vampire that gained his interest. Still, he took his sweet time in walking to the doors.

"I wanted to see it..." His voice rattled through the suit again, tone and pitch and that human ring of a natural voice lost through the breather. "shhh-K! shhh-K!" each breath out punctuated by the sharp inhale clicking something within the mask. "the tomb... they say a man died here and hope died with him. I wanted to see the tomb..." He slowly shifted beneath his cloak, his left hand moving to the scabbard of his blade, under all that loose fabric the subtle motions were lost, yet telepaths were aware of it, they had the advantage of seeing what was supposed to be secret, it's part of what won the war so quickly.
"this is where the world was supposed to have fell..." The first casualty of the millions lost in the rise of Mundus. Bedouin started to move back towards the door, he knew the sun would protect him from vampires, yet the other one, the demoness, she was called a daughter of mundus. This could be very, very bad for the Nomad. "I shall continue... my travels..."
Still holding the scabbard of his sword, he slowly backed towards the door, under his robes his hand moved to the handle of the kilij, ready for the foul play demons and vampires are known for. "shhh-K! shhh-K! shhh-K! shhh-K!" Bedouin's breathing continued to echo through the air, the mask rattling as he slowly drew his air.

Zira’s narrowed eyes delivered Maricul a cold glance. Oh if only she knew just how much of Zira’s scorn was being received. General Firestone could see right through that act of hers without prying into a single thought or feeling an emotion. It was obvious to her and Zira couldn’t fathom how anybody fell for it.
Perhaps it was a benefit of being Mundus’ daughter that made her immune to such trickery? Clearly that wasn’t the case for some as her brother fell for Maricul’s games and had laid with her on several occasions. Guess there had to be one in every family.
“This is not a matter that needs my brother’s attention.”
Mainly because he would kill this man without a moment hesitation and Zira was trying to save him. He had decided to leave and that was good, until Zira sensed that other presence coming closer to the entrance. Zira rushed over to the man and grabbed him by the shoulder.
“Wait a minute there’s someone coming through that entrance. Get out of sight.”
A good hiding place would be best as then he could launch an attack from there. Zira would press up against the wall near the castle’s entrance as she looked over to Maricul, signaling for her to prepare for a possible showdown with whatever was coming.

The Seductress looked into Zira's eyes deeply. They held so much beauty and power yet they lacked the one thing that was important in Mundus' children. Intimidation. There was nothing intimidating about her eyes or overall prowess. What was once a terrifying spawn of Mundus have gone soft in the eyes of the vampiress. Perhaps it was the human form or perhaps it was something more? Something she could not see? Either way Maricul wasn't sure if this development would serve as a blessing or a curse. Maricul wasn't any happier about the current situation as the surviving humans on this planet, but she was able to adapt, to evolve to suit her environment. It was her way and it worked for her so far.
Maricul only bowed in response to Zira's reply, conceding to her authority as she currently had none. The Seductress would only watch as the human spoke and turned away then Zira stopped him as she caught onto the whereabouts of the second intruder. Maricul received her orders yet casually sat down on the top flight of stairs, her eyes targeted on the entrance as she awaited for the behemoth of a vampire to emerge and make his presence known once and for all. In that wait she drew a single short sword and played with it, absentmindedly almost. Acting more like a child at this point.

Vexzel was many things, but he wasn't stupid. He heard their steps, and Zira's words. This reeked of ambush; they seemed ready to stab him or shoot him or do something more creative, but still unpleasant, when he came through the door. The obvious solution was not to use the door. The sound of his steps stopped right before it for a moment.
He peered into the shadow the mansion cast on the ground and saw the fragmented mirror-like views the shadows in the entrance hall provided. He knew where all three of them were, if he was a more travel-challenged creature that plan would work. He found a suitable place in the room, and seemingly disappeared like a black mist into the thin blackness cast upon the ground.
Any sound or scent of him would vanish for a few moments as well. He appeared in the back left corner of the entrance hall, partly hidden by the stairs. "My, my, do you treat everyone wandering in like this?" He strode out of the shadowy corner of the room as though he'd always been hiding there.
He kept close to the wall, at least until he could keep an eye on both Maricul and Zira. The seal in his right eye flickered slightly, reacting to the power of the possible enemies. Though he made no moves to do anything hostile, Vexzel didn't even have a hand on the hilt of the Tachi style sword at his waist.

Bedouin saw the man, a giant of freakish proportions, one of it's eyes glowing. The thing must me some form of demon. Standing almost two whole feet less than the giant, Bedouin was a dwarf by comparison. He wondered if the man could even move through a doorway without having to drop to his knees. The Nomad was pulled up against the wall. One of the two women regarded this being with fear, the other with casual familiarity, was he the master of this domecile? the being who guarded the Tomb?
"hhhh-k... hhhh-k... hhhh-k... hhhh-k..." though he tried to make his breathing shallow, his respirator still rattled and clicked slightly, his hands still at his side, ready to reveal that steel kilij at a moment's notice.

Zira expected the man to appear through the entrance any second now but he would instead make his appearance known from another part of the entrance hall. The Dark Princess knew where he was prior so he must have teleported to that location. Had they been that obvious?
Damn.
“Stay put,” she whispered to the man.
Abd-Al-Amin was his name, she knew that through a quick read of his mind. It was easier to trust when you knew more about the person you’re protecting. Most people never knew when she was reading their minds and she intended to keep it that way.
Zira came out of hiding with Ebony and Ivory in her hands aimed at the rather large target’s position.
“Only when they’re so obvious. What’s your name?”

Ooh somebody was a sneaky little vampire. The Seductress stood up again and put her weapon back in its pocket while Zira came out of the shadows, pointing her pistols at the intruder. How interesting... When the intruder was human Zira just told them to go away but when the intruder is a vampire both guns are pointed at them. Very interesting indeed. Was it just a prejudice against vampires or something more? "Really now Princess is that any way to treat a guest? You didn't aim your weapons at the last one. So he's a little big that's no reason to discriminate." Maricul still spoke with that same innocent tone as she descended the staircase and stood side-by-side Zira. The Seductress had a theory on why Zira treated this one differently but you could never tell she knew by looking at him. She appeared as nothing more but a weak servant.
"And must you aim your weapons at everything which displeases you? Shooting can't solve all your problems, Princess." It was true. Even if Zira didn't like the person giving the advice she couldn't deny that logic. "Maybe you would feel better after a nice massage, Princess? I know someone who is very good at them. I can take care of our guest while you're away." Maricul eyes wandered over to the man for a second before looking back to Zira. 'You on the other hand may want to take this time to sneak out the way you came,' she said mentally to the human. 'Before anything unfortunate happens to you. Wait outside if you want to see Dante's tomb so badly. I can show it to you later.'

Vexzel regarded the situation coldly. He didn't really seem to care about the guns pointed at him, no, guns alone couldn't kill him. The glow in his eye faded after the initial power estimate. Then came one of the obvious questions; asking who rather than what he was..... She was probably at least part demon.
"Vexzeleratus Ka Lagurus." He answered, going a deep formal bow in the process... though he was quick to rise and keep on eye on Zira's guns. His siblings weren't too keen on giving their full names, so he doubted Mundus' lackeys knew about the clan yet. "Vexzel will do." Even he thought the first name was too long.
He could tell what they were both thinking, but he hadn't come for the human. Bedouin would already be dead or close to it if that was the case.
