"Lightning, Fire, Ice, Earth, Wind, Water, Light, and Darkness. They make up our world."
Since Dumary Island was destroyed, the library of ancient legends has been abandoned.
Athena was interested in one book: "The Element Demons."
"Golem the Earth titan, Aero the Wind God, Vulcan the Hell fire, Krakken the terror of the sea, Shiva the graceful ice wolf, Raijin the Lightning beast, Nosferatu the vampire of darkness, and Alexander the fallen light. Legends say these demons existed before Mundus was crowned. They were guardains, protecting a sacred treasure believed to be used to "revive" the light in this world. But then, they began to plot against the humans, to wipe them out. Before they could strike, a priestess sealed them in a sheet of ice. If the ice was to break, shall they scatter wreck havoc once again. But if one was to slay the beasts, the will accept you as their master and add their power to yours. The path to the light will be open."
Athena read.
Interesting, these beasts could give her something to do. And hopefully to get some business going.
"Where though? Where could they be sealed?"
Under a sheet of ice that will never melt.
A lake on an ice mountain? Perhaps.
She though for a moment.

"Fearie Tales." The voice reverberated through the room, distorted by the metal filter strapped to the man's face. It was the form of a man, but it could just as easily have been a woman, it might be in fact... There was no visible skin or hair, no sign of age or gender or race, just a flowing cloak, a padded suit, and a heavy hood, the face obscured by goggles and a breather mask. Bedouin walked into the room and kept his face pointed at Jen.
"shhh-K! shhh-K! shhh-K!" his breather filtered the air, loudly drawing in breath and clicking with each exhale. Bedouin shifted slightly as he stood near the woman, not sure how exactly to act around her... He normally wasn't this bold, but he heard her reading of some old legend... "why follow old stories?" Pragmatism and a life of travel and hardship had dulled Bedouin's belief, and while the mask he wore made his voice sound hollow and unnatural, it couldn't mask his lack of belief in those old stories.

"Because legends and the past interest me. If people can learn from the past, we can altar the future. Besides, slaying these elemental demons will give me something to do and some business."
Athena said.
"You see. As we proceed into the future, many mysteries are left in the past. And I wish to solve the past's problems."

"we have problems in the present..." his voice sounded distant and concerned, though still inhuman through the mask's filters. Bedouin was surprised at how much he was talking, maybe he had been travelling far too long... Bedouin moved closer still, his robe flowing with each step. His masked face pointed to the book she was reading, looking over the pages she had revealed.
"If the world was a safer place I'd follow such old tales..." The Nomad wondered if it were true, would he follow those tales? was it possible for the world to be a safer place? "but demons more relevant than these sleepers actively walk our world, rule it." Bedouin's face moved up from the book to Athena's his mask still rattling softly with his breath.
"where were the heroes of these books when the world was conquered? Are there no heroes in this day and age?"
Bedouin's voice had a strange bitterness to it, a callous acceptance of the world's defeat, of humanity's defeat. Had the forces of Mundus simply won, was humanity truly cowed?

Heroes were for books, white knights for tales long dead, if dragons were still around they'd be mighty pissed..... but for now, the world had Harikiashivire Vi Lagurus. She heard a conversation somewhere else in the ruined building, but couldn't understand it from this distance.
So having boredom and no demons to kill she started heading in the direction of the voices. She could use a break anyway, that was one reason she went to one of the less active islands. Even then she kept her inner fire tightly coiled around her Baskilos which leaned back on her shoulder...... of course holding it one handed and slung over a shoulder would be a bad idea if she didn't have superhuman strength.
Though the axe still left holes in every door-frame she passed through, Harikia didn't seem to notice the noise that would carry all the way to the humans.
