'I don't care if they need me here,' Amoura thought while she scaled the tall building, using the abilities that were common with a vampire: defiance of gravity. Her red, tattered cloak billowed around her armor-clad body; sometimes the wind redirected it and caused the worn cloth to roughly snap against other areas. That didn't bother her all too much, at least. 'I have to return to where I came from and resolve the mess there-if I stay, it will interfere with the balance and make things worse.'
Finally, she succeeded in scaling the edifice and perched herself right at the edge to survey her surroundings. One thing she learned, the hard way, is that it was always important to make sure no one was following or attempting to attack you while your back was turned. Her silver-lined eyes didn't spot anything in the distance, she didn't hear anything, and she didn't smell something out of the ordinary. Physical senses agreed there was nothing to worry about, but the "sixth sense" told her otherwise. Someone, or something, was near and it didn't have good intentions.
"You're imagining things," she rebuked herself, "you're too paranoid. Just get the damned job done."
Amoura was on a hunch here: perhaps this area will hold the key to her returning to the original realm? It was worth a shot. The vampire slipped from her scouting post and explored around to find something --anything!-- to give her an idea on what to do.
