Name; Validus Recubo
Nicknames; The Deceiver, The White Testament, The Plaguebringer, The Despair.
Age; 3567
Place of birth; The Demon World
Species; Demon
Physical appearance;
Personality;
As to be expected by his demonic heritage, Validus is a very cold, callous and dispassionate figure. Highly analytical as well as cunning, he displays obvious signs of his heartless nature in everything he does, oddly enough for a demon however, he does not appear to be violent or bestial nor has he ever shown any signs of such primordial nature. Alas he will not hesitate to kill any who chooses to impede on his ideals, be they allies, demon or otherwise. Thus he has a tendency referring to anyone he does not find of particular interest to be ’trash,’ making them utterly expendable in his eyes… and of course such ’rabble’ are always dealt with accordingly.
Gifted with a high level of intelligence and a perceptive nature he is almost never surprised by the outcome of a certain event, having already deduced several countermeasures to nullify any possible chance of it bringing harm to him or his plans long before the opposing faction ever carry it into fruition. Brandishing a haunting melancholy expression upon his cold demeanour, this emotionless visage never falters even in the most dire of situations, regardless of what or who he faces. No matter what the situation, he always remains completely calm and in control of his environment as to never be caught off- guard, leaving nothing to chance… however in the rare case where he is outmanoeuvred, one would think such a case would cause frustration.. alas, it only intrigues him. Another thing to be noted about Validus’s persona, is the fact that although he may see the humans as trash and pointless cattle ripe for slaughter, he does regard them with a certain curiosity, especially the thing which they refer to as ‘the soul’ or ‘the heart.‘ His nature closely befitting that of a nihilist, Validus has been shown a firm believer in that what his eyes cannot see, does not exist. Evidently the mortals believe in the phrase of ’emotion’ and reveres the soul for serving as the conduit of it. In the end, they believe in something which cannot exist, and yet their belief is upheld with such unfaltering perseverance and resolve, a phenomenon which have peeked the curiosity of Validus time and time again.
Abilities;
Validus is far from being what many might consider a normal demon, and neither are his abilities. As a demon, Validus displays a frightening physical strength, endurance and speed, yet that is all insignificant when compared to the true nature of his power. It is said that a demons power is defined from the day of his creation, thus hardly any of the ’high demons’ are ever the same, a truth quite fitting to this unnatural being. Where as many demons are large and grotesque monsters by nature, Validus’s powers mended themselves in such a way as to.. eventually grant him a somewhat human form the day he was ’born’, alas he is far from being anything of the sort. It is suspected that on the day of his so called birth, his own crushing demonic power was so vast and unstable from the day he entered the world, that his own body simply could not contain it, and thus instantly began to break down into nothing but microbes.
Born only to be reduced to nothing, it was not the end for him. The very nature of his power changed along with him, as his own demonic energies began to weave themselves directly into the very particles which composed his body, granting him direct control over his entire cellular structure. Now a sentient cluster of microbes, he soon discovered that it was easily within his power to ’feed’ off other organisms, breaking down matter and consuming it into his structure was but one of many feats which came easy. Thus he began to absorb other demons within the depths of Hell, feeding off them.. fuelling his own power, learning the components of flesh and tissue, and eventually gave himself form once again. Validus has ever since carried with him a sickly ability of consuming other beings be they living or dead, as a means to fuel his own power if needed, alas that is far from being the most frightening aspect of his unnatural powers.
Having direct control over his cellular structure, Validus is able to morph his body however he sees fit, subtracting as well as adding particles seems like child’s play to him, thus the true limits as to what he can do are drawn only by his knowledge. Even going as far as being able to change the very molecular structure of other objects be they organic or otherwise.
It should also be noted, that since the very essence of his power is woven into the cells of his body, the process of this combined with the sheer amount of his demonic energy alone seems to have hardened his skin over time to the point of being virtually indestructible, as he is shown fighting with his bare hands even when facing the most deadly of opponents, it is speculated that he only unsheathes his sword against those he deems truly worthy.
Deceit of the Devil:
Due to his unique powers of cellular control Validus has developed something truly horrific, and extraordinary. Using his knowledge of anatomy, Validus will infect the body of his foe with his own cells, allowing them to travel to the cerebral cortex via the central nervous system, gaining access to the very core of their being. Using his own molecules as a beacon, he is able to see the very essence of their ’soul’ through but a singular glance of his haunting emerald gaze. Allowing him to truly see who they are right down to the maw in their bones by interpreting the brains electrical impulses. Their powers, their appearance, their minds and memories, the way they act think and feel, everything right down to the very last detail. From here he is able to store the memory of their being within his own body, enabling him to alter his form accordingly, making and exact copy.

Weapons;
Lues:
Judging by the appearance of Lues, one might simply see it for what it is, a beautiful yet simple Japanese style katana. It’s hilt sculpted directly out of the purest ivory clearly matching its grey metal sheath, as well as it’s deadly edge glinting like stars in the moonlight, this would indeed be a weapon desired by any swordsman. Alas… for all its splendour, this weapon is far from being any ordinary blade, in truth it might be safe to say that it is one of a kind. Once again drawing upon the powers of his cellular manipulation, Lues, is in fact a weapon created millennia ago through his own cells. The particles having been delicately altered, as to make the hilt of smooth and elegant of ivory, and the steel remaining sharp and deadly even after thousands of years of repeated use, hardening it to the brink of being all but indestructible With these and many more factors playing a part in the mysterious nature of the blade, this sword is literally and extension of its masters will.
History;
Several millennia ago, long before the Legendary Dark Knights rebellion, a demon of vast power came into being, one so great, its very creation shook the foundations of the Underworld to the core. Alas before other demons even had a chance seek out this sinister source of energy, either to discover, serve or even conquer it… the being was gone, vanished into nothingness. Such was the story of Validus Recubo, born with a power so great and unstable, that it destroyed him the very moment he was brought into the world, leaving nothing but a massive crater behind deep within the many realms of the Underworld, which have since earned the namesake ‘Pit of the Faceless One‘. However this was not the end for him, the power of the fiend endured. His demonic energies mingled with the cells of his, disintegrated body, bringing them together, soon becoming a sentient cluster of microbes and particles… with a burning desire to become hole once again. Thus it wasn’t it long before pure instinct drove Validus to discover the terrifying aspect of his unusual power that would grant him life anew. He was able to consume other beings, life in itself… breaking down their structures ’feeding’ off living organisms, fuelling his own power. At first, it was merely the few scurrying whelps, skulking the shadows around the crater marking his birth… however it wasn’t long before, he spread out across the entire realm, devouring everything, leaving it barren… and broken, and once there was nothing left for him to consume…he moved on... again and again.
For several years, Validus roamed the Underworld like a plague… devouring all he came across. Leaving nothing but death and decay in his wake, his quest to become whole once more resulted in a terrifying blight upon the land, one of such magnitude that entire realms of Hell were left desolate and uninhabitable by other demons. As the years passed, soon this ‘plague’ became legendary in its own right, forcing entire cities to crumble, and even the mightiest of demons to flee in its wake… and still none were able to determine what it was, nor who brought it into being… until finally, the plague which had ravaged the Demon World for what seemed and eternity, gained a name, a face, even a body… as Validus Recubo was reborn into the world which he had fed upon for so long, earning himself a most fitting title as ’The Plaguebringer.’
Upon his resurrection, he returned to the realm of his birth, now nothing but a barren wasteland, home to undead demons and spectres, he was fascinated by the many creatures within that seemed unaffected by the plague born of his own twisted being, a realm as peaceful as it was haunting. Concluding that further destruction of the Underworld wouldn’t be productive to his growth rate, he soon made the ream marking his creation his ‘seat of power‘. Intrigued by the creatures inhabiting it, he thought to learn something from them, answers to questions he did not yet have and more. By this time however, word had already spread to the far reaches of the Underworld, regarding the true nature of the plague which had decimated them for years, and by then, as expected… Validus was feared by all, even to the point where those outside suspected him of being an opposed power to Mundus.
From here, he lingered as the cycle of life within Hell continued as it always had, survival of fittest, being the only law of the land. However with no desire to even rule, nor any pestering trash disturbing him, he made sure that by this law, any venturing into the realm of the damned would need to fight for their continued existence. Covering the entirety of the realm with his own twisted cells as a means of warding it against all living creatures, allowing but few still alive to remain within, possibly to serve as a testament to the plague which could have easily brought them to brink of annihilation.
Alas this warning, went unnoticed, and throughout the ages, he has been sought by many demons, some seeking to fight him to bolster their own power, some for vengeance of what he had done, others to ensure his foul existence be erased. Yet all who tried failed in their endeavour, in truth they never got far enough to ever lay their eyes upon him, they died from the festering plague roaming the land under the control of Validus, consuming their bodies as each one fell, bolstering his powers in the process…yet despite his increase of power, he did not care. His desires were not of power, nor to rule anything, but to find a purpose to his life, something which he could ’see,’ a meaning to his existence… alas hundreds of years passed, and still he found nothing, and still challengers continued to try. Even when word of Mundus’s march to conquest and Sparda’s rebellion reached his ears he remained within the land on the dead, caring little for the petty ideals of the Prince of Darkness, and with his seething corruption warding his home from the living beings of Hell, he was effectively sealed off from the rest of the world.
There... sitting upon a jaggered throne of rock and stone... he finally had his full of the world as it was, having grown weary of this dull existence... and thus he went to rest, hoping that when he would awake, he would have the chance to find the answer to his question.
Remaining in this slumber for well over 2000 years... suddenly, something began to stir within him... his body began to move.... and the haunting visage of his emerald eyes having remained shut for two whole millennia... were opened... as Validus was awakened.
Knowing not how or why he had risen, the white devil eventually choose to see this as 'fate' as the mortals would call it. Calling forth the wraiths of the realm, he soon learned all of what had transpired during his long rest.... and what he learned was quite interesting, in fact a little surprising that the seed of Sparda failed to live up to his fathers mantle, alas it didn't matter.... he thought perhaps that this outcome would provide him with the chance to find meaning.
So it was that Validus Recubo finally left the Underworld... breaking through to the surface, free to walk this world...rebuilt in the image of the Prince of Darkness.... perhaps here he would have his answer.... perhaps not... either way.. time would tell.
