The City Gates.
Pass these walls were a city no better than a prison. With the innocent yelling out in pain and misery during all hours of the day. It was enough to make Zira's heartache as she could not only see their pain, but feel it as if it was her own to bear. The only hope these people had all lied in an idea created by a man who lived years ago. A belief that motivated him into becoming a protector of these people, instead of a destroyer.
The Legendary Dark Knight: Sparda. He wielded the weapon named after himself, which were also called “Force Edge” when locked away in slumber. Thanks to her father the Force Edge would never again awaken to share its true power. Not that she would use it, as it was her belief only a member of that bloodline can truly harness the power of Sparda. The Force Edge were the only hope that remained into the heart of the people. It was the least she could do after being responsible for all this suffering in the first place.
You cannot imagine the guilt she feels day after day.
Zira believed in the back of her mind she would be punished ten folds for her crimes. Even then, without hope of redemption Zira moved onward to the city gates. Thanks to the three-headed beast that sat there day in and day out, chewing on the flesh of living people who tried to make it into the city, in the hopes of finding and rescuing their loved ones. The Cerberus was responsible for keeping people in and others out. Zira knew this beast well, not as an enemy but as an ally. A friend even. She had grown up with it at her side, like a loyal companion. But in the end Zira knew the Cerberus loyalty belonged only to The Prince of Darkness: Mundus. Even knowing that didn't make Zira's task any easier to fulfill.
Zira planned to kill the Cerberus so the rebellion could enter through the city easier.
With the Force Edge and Dante's signature firearms, Ebony and Ivory, Zira made her way to the city gates. Slipping away from her father's watchful eye and beginning her campaign for the rebellion in secret. She could not go to them directly for they would not trust her, and why should they? Zira killed so many family members of theirs she couldn't remember how many bodies her old sword slain. That was the main reason she threw it out and replaced with Force Edge. Zira had no choice but to work in secret.
A black mask shielded her features but her bright brown eyes shined through anyways. Her body protected in black ninja garb as she silently approached the front gates. The Daughter of Mundus passed by skeletons, and left over flesh of eaten victims, but when she came to the gates themselves Zira saw that the Cerberus was nowhere to be found.
Something was wrong.
